The pawn seems to be looking into the fog of what it's facing. Very clever exploitation of focus.

I like the lighting and color and how you can see the white spaces on the board. All very good touches. :-)
While I like the overall composition, i wish I could see the bottom of the chess piece in focus. Also, maybe there could be either just the one chess piece in front by itslef or more of the other clear pieces. I'm just not sure I like the 2nd chess piece being cut off in the photo.

It's a great photo though. Good job with the lighting cause I know that's though.

Very nice! It seems there are some water drops in the lens, thay maybe you can clean with some little editing.

Ooooo, It looks like a battle is about to begin, there appears to be a haze, we are focused on the one pawn who awaits his faith, he will probably be sent out to setup defenes of the area, but he isn't afraid, he is ready :) Excellent, easily deserved a +fav :)

i like the blue tone... and the clear focus on foreground. nice shot! =)
o and i love chess and chess sets... I think i have the same set... i took some shots of it but i don't like them.. my lighting sucks hehe =p

thank you :) i used my bedside lamp - 35w halogen - for lighting and then the blue tone and cropping i did in photoshop 7 :)

i was thinking the same thing... Chess shots are done a lot, but you did such a nice job with lighting and color that i had to tell you so.
